Since it's about photo locations, I wanted to present the best possible pictures. But since we had such different weather everyday and always forget to take pics horizontally, I had a hard time to edit them in a similar way, so that they look all nice and consistent. Technically, those were platforms...do you call them that in English...? And they were very comfy and it was fun wearing something more girly for a change, but I still tripped a few times and looked like I just stepped off a horse. Ohh so classy!

Anyway, comfy shoes are very much needed when sightseeing in Tuscany and visiting its super charming little towns. Which towns should you not skip during your Tuscan trip?

✅Montepulciano - medieval town of rare beauty
✅Bagno Vignoni - known for its hot springs
✅Volterra - medieval art centre, famous for the mining and processing of alabaster
✅San Gimignano - famous for fascinating medieval architecture and impressive towers
✅Monteriggioni - you can't miss it if you played Assassin's Creed 2😛
✅Siena - medieval wonder. Similar to Florence, but less crowded.

I'm the kind of person who keeps calm under pressure and freaks out when everything is ok.

It was just a funny quote I found. But it might be the case.😉 That's why I'm not getting particularly stressed when we're road tripping in Italy. Well, mainly because it's not me who's driving.😛 But despite many stereotypes, driving in Italy doesn't have to be stressful.

Based on our 2 Italian road trips I put together a little guide with useful tips on driving in Tuscany and in general in Italy. It's just a few things that Matt and I found different or weird compared to driving in our countries.

At work: it's 1:30. You close your eyes for 5 minutes, it's 1:31.
During travel: it's 9:30. You get to the first place of the day. You walk around, sightsee, enjoy your time, you have a coffee, lunch and an Aperol Spritz... It's 3.

Hmm...that actually sounds about right. My joke didn't work this time.😛

Anyhow, time always goes by too fast when we travel. The same thing happened in beautiful Pienza in Tuscany. It was our first stop of the day. It was Sunday morning, so not too many people were around. We got to walk around the city walls admiring beautiful views of Val d'Orcia. Stroll along charming little alleys, like this one. Stopped for an actual vegan lunch! Woohoo. And just simply enjoyed our time, enjoyed the warmth and the sun. And bam! 5 hours had passed.
.
When visiting Tuscany you can't miss Pienza. Described by Wikipedia as "a touchstone of Renaissance urbanism"...whatever that means, Pienza was def one of my favourite Tuscan towns.

If we were meant to stay in one place, we'd have roots instead of legs.

In spite of 5 months of lockdown/quarantine/corona drama, you name it, I still see legs when I look down there.😛 That's why we embarked on another crazy Italian road trip.
.
5 days, 670 km (415 miles), 14 towns/cities, several viewpoints and must-see Tuscan places, a few too many Aperol Spritz and glasses of wine and definitely too much dairy.
.
Tuscany you've been amazing. Well, apart from that one day, when it rained, but I forgive you. In the next weeks I'll share a few of the almost 3k pictures. There's only so many because of my bad posing, or the wind, or the clouds, or the sun...
.
This one is from Siena. Full of Medieval buildings, similar to Florence, but less crowded with the most funny shaped "market square' - Piazza del Campo, Siena is a must visit when in Tuscany. Walk around its romantic old town, visit museums, sit on the ground of the main square when you get tired with a gelato in your hand, have a glass of wine in one of the few bars around the piazza when you get thirsty. My only regret is that Torre del Mangia - the most recognisable landmark of Siena was closed because of...you know what🙄 but at least it gives us a reason to go back and admire Siena from 100 meters above.

There's probably not many beer freaks here. Well, @rv_sanders I know you are.😛 but since Matthew changed me into a beer snob, I discovered that brewing beer is an art and there are so many different flavours and types. So now we only drink craft beer - beer that comes from smaller breweries where people put all their knowledge and heart into making a great beer.

Brands like Heineken or Carlsberg or any other commercial swill...yuck, I'd rather drink water from a puddle.😛 I told you...a snob.😁
